The system for efficiently harvesting honey was listed on Indiegogo back on 22 February with a modest target of $70,000, which it reached in just 8 minutes. By the end of its first day it had raised US$ 2.18M before going on to clock a record for the platform, the country and the Asia Pacific region.

Late last week the Malaysian Securities Commission announced it was accepting the first applications for equity crowdfunding licences. This followed on from the release of new guidelines on 10 February that introduced requirements for equity crowdfunding platforms.
Malaysia is one of the first states in Asia to authorise equity crowdfunding, which the Government sees as an important and innovative new market structure to facilitate the growth of new small scale businesses. 15 Apr 2015: The Malaysian Securities Commission announced late last week week that operators interested in operating an equity crowdfunding platform can now submit their applications. The Commission released revised guidelines that permit the operation of these types of platforms as well as Shariah-compliant platforms back in February. The applications for the initial licences should be submitted by 11 May 2015.
