Malaysian Securities Commission releases its anticipated Crowdfunding Guidelines

10 Feb 2015: The Securities Commission of Malaysia released its guidelines for the registration of equity crowdfunding platforms today. They permit companies to raise up to RM3 million per year from investors (retail and sophisticated) who have been provided with a 6 day cooling off period. Platform operators have to be fit and proper persons and run an orderly fair and transparent market. The announcement positions Malaysia as a leader in equity crowdfunding, both within Asia and globally.
